Role:
Bloomberg L.P. has an opportunity for a Trade Compliance
Specialist in our Sao Paolo, Brazil office. The Trade
Compliance Specialist works in conjunction with the Americas
Trade Compliance Team Lead and other Bloomberg L.P. Business
Units and functional groups to maintain compliance with
applicable import/export regulations and other applicable
government agencies. The individual will assist with Customs
and other government agency requirements for the countries in
the Americas/LATAM region.
Responsibilities:
-Work with Bloomberg’s Global Trade Compliance team to execute
strategy, drive and enforce global import / export processes,
seek automation opportunities and leverage technologies
-Drive scalable business solutions with ensure compliance with
trade regulations
-Work with supply chain partners to set up the effective import
and export processes
-Responsible for customs brokerage performance and drive
improvements
-Responsible to provide guidance on Trade Compliance subjects
during customs clearance process
-Analyse and audit import / export documentation, taxes, fees
and expenses
-Serve as the initial point of contact for Customs and other
trade regulator inquiries
-Process Implementation: work with the Global Trade Compliance
team and engage Bloomberg business partners to implement and
enforce corporate policies
-Keep files and records in accordance with Brazilian Government
and regional record-keeping regulations and internal
procedures
-Create and improve import and export metrics for reporting to
corporate Global Trade Compliance team
-Provide correct NCM Tariff classification guidance for
imported products in order to ensure compliance with Brazil’s
and regional Trade Compliance regulations
-Provide expertise on import and export regulations in Brazil
and best practices
-Work with local business units to identify business needs and
provide solutions
-Monitor and apprise Bloomberg of upcoming Brazilian and
regional LATAM regulatory changes
-Ensure import/export license, exemptions, and exceptions are
in place to allow compliant, global collaboration
-Assist with regular audits, including valuation,
classification, import taxes, etc.
-Collaborate with Legal and Tax departments on efforts as
necessary
Experience/Education:
-Bachelor’s Degree, or local equivalent, or equivalent
technical qualification and/or experience
Skills/Knowledge:
-Working knowledge of Latin/South American country trade
compliance regulations.
-Knowledge of United States trade compliance regulations is a
plus.
-Working knowledge of SAP systems, including SAP GTS (preferred
but not required)
-Working experience in Microsoft Office Programs (particularly
Excel and MS Access)
-Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and have
demonstrated ability to see a process/project through from
start to finish
-Strong analytical, written and verbal skills
-Strong inter-personal skills, along with the ability to
function both as an individual contributor and a team
player
-Brazilian Portuguese and English speaking/reading/writing.
Spanish speaking/reading/writing a plus
