What you’ll do:
This is a full-time position that performs a position in support of our efforts to provide an outstanding customer experience, maintain highly efficient operational productivity, and company profitability by handling inbound merchandise, customer orders, returns and shipments.


The Yard Jockey will be


Responsible to maintain a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the fulfillment center needs.


This is completed with timely movements and thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning.


Duties may also be performed in the following functional areas in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) – Receiving, Cubiscan, Decant, Returns, Value Added Services (VAS) and Replenishment.


Will also be cross-trained in Outbound functions.


Responsible for the movement and spotting of containers. The yard jockey will also be responsible for assisting with the inbound function.


Drive and operate motorized equipment (i.e. truck, forklift) to transport containers and trailers around the fulfillment center, to receiving/shipping doors and to storage/staging lots.


Conduct safety inspections of trucks, trailers and equipment.


Responsible for keeping detailed account of records involving container information.


Requirements


Previous experience operating a Capacity yard spotter truck, 4WD yard tractor and other powered equipment.


Able to hook up and disconnect yard jockey which includes: Climbing up and down rear of tractor – approximately four feet


Ability to understand and follow instructions to complete required paperwork, understand bills of lading, manifest and freight bills.


Interpersonal and communicates skills to work in a team atmosphere with supervisors and peers.


Valid driver’s license is required and a CDL license is preferred.


Ability to lift or force objects up to a weight of 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.


Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including but not limited to: wet, humid, hot and cold weather; conditions where airborne fumes and particles are present; and, where is constant and/or frequent vibrations.
