Medical Receptionist/Administrative Assistant- Part-Time

Responsibilities:
As a receptionist with Wellness for Life you will act as a clinical specialist/consultant delivering comprehensive specialized health and medical care. Provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients with diseases and injuries seeking treatment in the clinic as directed by a physician or another primary care provider. The receptionist will be responsible for the following job functions:
Answer phones using a multi-line system as well as scheduling patients.
Greet patients and obtain patient demographics and insurance information.
Prepare educational materials and assist in planning and developing health and educational programs for patients.
Escort patients to exam rooms, review patients medical history, measure vital signs, such as; pain assessment, pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, height and weight, and record information in patient’s electronic medical record.
Educate patients on related health issues and healthy lifestyle choices.
Perform phone and in person triage of patients to assist in determining health-care needs for acute concerns.
Preps patients and assist with examinations.
Operate EKG and other diagnostic equipment to administer routine diagnostic test and treatments, including; pulse oximeters, nebulizers, oxygen equipment, etc.
Collect lab specimens, including but not limited to urine, blood and sputum from patients for testing and may perform waived laboratory test on these specimens.
Cleans treatment rooms, equipment and supplies.
Submits any received laboratory and radiology results to medical providers.
Inputs all patient’s information into the patients electronic medical record.
Completes any and all clinical reminders “due” at the time of each patient’s visit.
Must possess excellent relationship skills and a teamwork attitude.
