PROFILE
The Brazil Division is the fourth largest
single business unit in the ERM global portfolio and the
largest single BU in Latin America. The Division is
critical to the growth in Latin America, and enjoys a
high profile within ERM. The Rio de Janeiro office is one
of the 5 offices in Brazil, besides São Paulo, Porto
Alegre, Belo Horizonte and Salvador.
Globally, ERM adopts a sector and Key Client
Program approach with a focus on oil and gas, mining and
power. The Brazil Division has many global key
clients present within its footprint and the plan is to
drive an important growth in the off shore oil and gas
sector in the upcoming years.
The role of Oil & Gas Manager in Rio de
Janeiro will be awarded to the candidate that has a
proven track record of achieving profitable growth, and
who has a broad perspective of this market to drive the
services in the oil and gas sector. This is not a role
for a project manager, we are seeking a recognised and
market orientated leader.

global and local key clients in oil & gas
consultancy services, manage resources and costs
carefully and improve the margin.
Need to create a consistent, high
performance culture in the Rio de Janeiro
team.
Leverage synergies with strategies already
being developed with our global key
clients.
ROLE &
RESPONSIBILITIES
Will be accountable for the leadership and
sustainable, profitable growth of the Oil & Gas
sector in Brazil.
Key
responsibilities:
Initiate and lead business development and
sales efforts, including proposal writing and
delivery.
Manage large, complex, multidisciplinary
projects.
Utilise established networks, internally
and externally to benefit ERM and client
delivery.
Work with senior staff in the LAC (Latin
America and Caribbean) region and Brazil team to grow
opportunities in the local market, while expanding
various service lines with clients [site investigation
and remediation, risk assessment, environmental
construction management, site closure and
decommissioning, etc].
Develop and expand client relationships
that generate repeat business.
Manage completion of projects, including
client interactions, financial management, and
technical excellence. Ensure profitable performance on
projects managed.
Health and safety leadership to build and
maintain a strong H&S culture in the Rio
office.
Provide leadership in managing staff
performance, recruiting and retention, and mentoring
personnel for overall success of sector
team.
Develop a working understanding of ERM’s
other consulting practice areas and actively support
cross-selling other services to existing
clients.
REQUIRED SKILLS &
EXPERIENCE
Proven business development experience for
large programs/contracts and/or client relationships
supported by repeat business, including established
contacts with blue chip clients in the Oil & Gas
sector.
Consistent “seller/doer track record” and
proven business development experience for large
programs/contracts and client relationships supported
by repeat business.
+10 years experience in the oil and gas
sector.
Exhibit one or more core strengths (e.g.,
engineering, oceanography, technology, litigation,
sustainable remediation) that you are recognized for by
clients or in the Brazilian market.
Viewed as a valued advisor by a number of
existing clients.
Excellent writing, communication, strategic
thinking, and “people” skills.
Solid knowledge of the local regulatory
climate, with proven negotiation skills with
regulators.
Recognized technical or client management
expertise by the marketplace.
