Job description:


What is the role 



Reporting to the Director of Controllership the Brazil

Financial Controller is an integral part of the accounting

cycle, providing support to the Global Finance team, assisting

in accounting and financial reporting activities as well as

regional requirements for the particular legal entities for the

International Controllership team. The Financial Controller

will be working closely with the Financial Controller and

provide support in the statutory compliance and financial

functions. In addition, this position will play a key role

within the local management team supporting sustainable

business growth to ensure short term actions are aligned with

long term strategic vision of the business. 



The Controllership group is responsible for all legal entity

statutory, financial compliance, corporate reporting according

to local GAAP, and audit requirements. The Controllership group

will represent Finance and support the tax and legal teams in

the execution of financial matters and initiatives. 



This role will be located in Brazil where the Financial

Controller will be responsible for Brazil entities. 



What you will do: 



The Financial Controller is responsible for the Controllership

requirements for the Brazil group of companies. The purpose of

the position is to maximize return on financial assets and

guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and

enforcing global policies and procedures. Also, this individual

would be responsible for the financial administration of the

global transfer pricing agreements.



• Management of the finance function and overseeing the Finance

(BP&A, Billings, Collections, Payments, Procurement) and

Administrative team. Lead the team on constant process

improvement to ensure consistency on high standard quality of

deliverables. 



• Preparation and/or Review of reconciliations as required for

the particular legal entities for the International

Controllership team



o Balance Sheet reconciliations 



o Foreign currency accounting 



o Maintain reconciliation between US GAAP and local GAAP



• Assist and support the local 3rd party accounting firms in

the execution of their local financial and government reporting

responsibilities



o Assist with preparation of working schedules for the external

auditors



o Assist with the documentation of local country GAAP

adjustments



o Provide supporting material for tax compliance requirements

and working closely with the 3rd party accountants to ensure

all tax filing are prepared accurately and on time



o Provides general support and information to the business as

requested



o Provide assistance for ad-hoc reporting and analysis as

required 



• Liaison with the Global Finance team (Corporate Accounting,

AR, AP, Order Entry, Payroll) to ensure the accuracy of

financial information for internal/external reporting and to

mitigate any potential risk/liability.



• Assist with budget, plans and forecast processes according

with local reality and needs.



• Provides support for new acquisitions



o Participates in any post acquisition integration

activities 



o Support legal entity restructuring steps



• Assist with entity system migrations



o Monitor the project plan



o Assist with GL migrations



o Participates in migration meetings and conference calls when

required



• Assist with special projects as required 



Position Requirements:



The successful candidate will be a good team player, process

and results orientated, must be diligent and self-motivated

with great attention to detail.



• 10 years of related finance and accounting experience in a

technology environment.



• Excellent interpersonal skills; capable of communicating in

professional and courteous manner with peers, customers,

vendors and management.



• Detail, deadline and results oriented with strong analytical

skills.



• Proven self-starter with the ability to balance multiple

tasks of competing priorities in a changing and dynamic

environment.



• Must have advanced Excel skills. Working knowledge of Access

is an asset. 



• Proficient in MS Office applications and hands on experience

in Great Plains, SAP, BPC and Oracle.



• Excellent oral and written English/Portuguese communication

skills



• Strong understanding of US GAAP and BR GAAP 



• IFRS knowledge is an asset.



• Strong knowledge and application of Revenue Recognition

principals.



• Proven ability to perform under tight timelines in a

fast-paced environment.



Academic 



Has obtained or in the process of obtaining an accounting

designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA or CRC). BA/BS Degree in

Accounting, Finance, MBA or related major.
