Position responsibilities:
· Removes all trash on all floors, and disposes of in accordance with hospital policy and procedures
· Disposes of all bio-hazardous waste according to posted operating instruction for the Medical Waste Unit
· Cleans and performs daily preventive maintenance on the Medical Waste Unit according to procedures
· Keeps all trash collection areas clean and orderly
· Cleans morgue and properly disposes waste
· Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department
· Picks up cartons, plastic bags, and trash around compactor and place in the compactor daily
· Cleans trash cans as needed, using hospital approved germicide
· Assists with classroom set up as required
· Performs duties as a Housekeeping Aide when requested
· Attends unit meetings, in services and other educational programs to maintain competency requirements
· Performs efficiently with CPCS
· Attend Code of Conduct training course annually
· Demonstrate an understanding of and adherence to HCA’s Code of Conduct
· Demonstrates conduct that is reflective of THRH’s commitment to HCA’s Code of Conduct
· Understands and satisfies the needs of the patient population appropriate to the age of the patient served (adults, geriatric, adolescent, pediatric, and parents of neonates)
- Adheres to the Standards of Behavior for Terre Haute Regional Hospital as per the Customer Relations Policy
Essential educational/licensure, skills and experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Above average communication skills in all forms
Must be able to read, write and understand oral and written instructions
