This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Office of the Director (OD) , Office of Administrative and Management Services (OAMS) in Spokane, WA., National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Division of Safety Research (DSR) in Morgantown, WV., and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Division of Surveillance, Hazard Evaluations and Field Studies (DSHEFS) in Cincinnati, OH.

DUTIES: Back to top As a Administrative Officer you will:
- Prepare a budget analysis and maintain budget records.
- Provide support in budget formulation and execution involving basic administrative expenses.
- Review budget calls, and explain schedules and data requirements to manager.
- Collect information on anticipated needs in preparation for the new fiscal year.
- Advise the manager of the practical and technical aspects of the budget.
- Perform the full range of personnel management and administrative support for the organization.
- Provide guidance to manager and supervisor in personnel matters involving staffing, classification and leave.
- Serve as the organization’s liaison with the human resources office.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Back to top GS-09: A pplicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.
Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience providing support involving personnel, budget, database administration, and contracts and procurement functions. Substitution of Education for Experience:
Possession of a Master’s or equivalent degree or two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LLB or J.D., if related to the position.
OR
Have a combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
GS-11: A pplicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.
Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position, to include experience in planning and coordinating all administrative activities including personnel management/administration, budgeting and financial management, procurement and contracting, property management, supplies and/or special projects.
Substitution of Education for Experience:
Possession of a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M, if related to the position.

Have combination of experience and education that meets 100% of the qualifications requirements.

Your graduate level education must be related to the job being filled and must have provided you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the work to be considered for substitution for specialized experience.
