SENIOR FINANCIAL COUNSELOR-UHHG PATIENT ACCOUNT SERVICES - Union Hospital - Terre Haute, IN


Part time rotating hours: One week -three 8 hour days, next week – two 8 hour days. (total of 40 hours in two week period)

Job Duties:
Contacts self-pay, in-house patients to identify payor sources. Contacts patients on weekly work lists to collect payment in full or discuss payment options. Completes loan applications. Truth-in-Lending Disclosure contracts. Medical Credit Line contracts without error. Completes, as needed, Community Assistance applications in a legible manner, for patients who are not financially able to meet their obligation. Answers incoming calls and assists caller with resolution of patient accounting issues. Completes all statistical reports as assigned by the Manage, Patient Account Services and completes work by pre-set deadlines. Has understanding of Hospital policy and department procedures, and applies them appropriately. Demonstrates cooperative, courteous attitude with patients, vendors, co-workers, hospital employees, and visitors. 90% of day is on phones and keyboard entry.


Requirements:
Functional grasp of standard written and verbal English, good spelling, accomplished at basic business math.


Minimum of 6 months experience in a customer service-related business


Excellent customer Service skills and courteous telephone manners required.


Office skills – accurate typing and proofreading ability , must be able to read and understand Explanation of Benefits (EOB)


Must meet and deal successfully with a wide variety of people.
