Typical Job Entry Requirements

• High School diploma with additional training in computer operations.
• One to two years of experience in mainframe functions and peripheral equipment.
• One to two years of experience in programming and custom software.

Primary Activities

• Operate and maintains mainframe computer system and on-line peripheral equipment.
• Tests, develops and runs programs, backups and print jobs as scheduled and assigned.
• Writes instructions for financial institution users based on programmer’s documentation. Monitor’s operation of the computer system according to current available instructions. Updates and introduces efficient shortcuts and strategies when available.
• Performs minor computer maintenance and regular system backups. Monitors mainframe utilization to ensure efficient storage capacity and effective memory utilization.
• Manages printer resources, including forms and paper, ordering supplies when necessary and reporting usage to supervisor.
• Ensures printed reports generated by the computer system are accurate and efficiently distributed.
• Ensures backup for computer systems is stored in a secure area. Establishes and ensures the security of passwords for system operation.

Bank Secrecy Act
