The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform as Production Planner successfully.
Maintain and update the master production schedule for the assigned production lines.
Understand the forecast, order situation and inventory guidelines to prioritize and schedule the customer orders. Work with sales and customer service to understand true customer demand requirements.
Work with customers to manage the VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) materials based on forecast and production schedules.
Generate reports on production activity, order backlog, inventory status, and other metrics and to present them to the concerned employees within Ti.
Assign completion dates for production orders and review requests for date improvements.
Analyze inventory and work to prevent aging and obsolescence.
Constantly review the production scheduling process to ensure customer satisfaction (no late orders) while optimizing asset utilization (efficiency).
