ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
·
Maintains computerized electronic medical record forms in a logical, usable format at the direction of providers which should follow board policy and IT Steering Committee recommendations.
Creates plans for forms including appropriate connections and views.
Determines requirements of user needs and builds forms to meet those needs.
Imports forms into a test database and verifies all fields are compliant prior to importing into live database.
Provides ongoing support and maintenance of forms after development and installation.
Analyzes, designs, tests, debugs documents, and maintains each aspect of the encounter form-building initiative.
Effectively communicates all pertinent aspects of the project with other members of the project team.
Develop forms to meet governmental and payer requirements for quality and cost effectiveness.

Assists in training physicians, office staff and support personnel on all aspects of the encounter forms.
Works closely with and helps train personnel in use of new forms, reports, etc.
Works closely with project manager to anticipate and develop additional forms during the transition from a paper record to the electronic record.
Maintains patient databases for electronic medical records system.
Reviews patient demographic information, determines patient match, and completes merge and delete functions.
Communicates this information to appropriate staff in a timely manner, as required.
Reports system status and progress to management regularly.
Assists Information Systems Manager.
Assists in gathering information for analysis.
Prepares documentation, flow charts, form design, narratives, file layouts, and file specifications when required.
Reports status and progress of projects to management regularly.
Assists in establishing departmental guidelines.
Maintains integrity of system databases.
Assists in detail definition of system processing steps.
Prepares and maintains documentation.
Works with department personnel in solving problems requiring advanced system knowledge and understanding.
Participates in department performance improvement initiatives.
Performs all other duties as assigned by manager.

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED:
1.
Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant degree preferred.
2.
Experience with physician offices or hospitals.
3.
Medical records experience preferred.
4.
Experience with personal computers, software, and networks.
5.
Must meet and deal successfully with a wide variety of people.
6.
Must be accomplished in written and verbal business communication.
7.
Must have knowledge of Crystal reports.
8.
Must be able to effectively train physicians and staff on use of EMR.
9.
Must have analytical skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, kneel, and reach with hands and arms.
Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
OSHA Category II.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
1.
Procedural manuals, equipment manuals, flowcharts, diagrams, reports, drafting and writing equipment, department records and standardized forms, technical journals, and source materials from other departments.
2.
Personal computer hardware and software, various makes and models of computer peripherals for micro, mid-range, and mainframe systems.
3.
Standard office equipment including telephone and photocopier.
