The position of Technical Manager (Display & Graphics) is located at 3M South Africa, which is situated at Woodmead, a subsidiary responsible for the marketing and sales of a diversified range of products into Sub-Saharan Africa for the global corporation. To continue its growth in the region, the subsidiary has adopted a market focused strategy and is recruiting for this position to give effect to its business objectives. The Technical Manager will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:
Drive growth of D&G products through proactive customer training & support in South Africa. Develop an in-depth understanding of customer processes & pain points. Identify & communicate new product ideas. Engage the product development lab in pursuit of these ideas. Proactive engagement of key influencers (e.g. industry association and governmental bodies) for early adoption of 3M market solutions. The development & deployment of local, industry-recognized specifications. Ensure replication of growth opportunities via an active communication network with the global D&G TS network. Provide expert technical training to 3M sales & marketing and 3M converters & distributors on D&G products and solutions. Drive the development of impactful product launch packages. Maintain awareness of local policies & regulations on product responsibility, intellectual property & toxicology. Co-ordinate the administration of eNPI process within the D&G business group. Ensure field testing of new products (VOM/VOC), competitive analysis and customer troubleshooting.Qualifications
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
Matric Degree in science or applied science (not mandatory)Experience:
2+ years experience in a D&G related business role. Program leadership experience. Customer exposure and work experience. Cross-cultural and cross-functional work experience. Experience of the South African business environment and culture.Knowledge:
