JA Delmas Export, a world-renowned distributor of equipment and capital goods (Caterpillar, Hyster, Atlas Copco…),  works in 12 countries of West Africa in key industries such as public works, mining, heavy industry and forestry.  With a workforce of more than 1000, and a determination to continue to develop, this Bordeaux-based company is currently recruiting for the position of:                                           

                                                  Commercial Mining Engineer

Working within our subsidiary TRACTAFRIC Equipment, and in close collaboration with our Director, it will be your responsibility to develop and optimize our commercial policy, basing it upon strategic choices which are adapted to the character of the local markets while remaining compatible with the company’s objectives.

  It will be your responsibility to see that the quantitative and qualitative sales objectives of your sector are met. You will monitor developments in the market and offer recommendations as to how we can better adapt our practices to fit the demands of local markets. You will identify development opportunities and negotiate the terms of new contracts. You will offer clients technical recommendations relating to their specific sector, helping to maintain good customer relationships. You will coordinate and consolidate existing contracts, monitor the turnover per country for our products and services and propose corrective measures where necessary. You will optimize our distribution policy and export procedures. You will organise the launch and monitoring of all sales-related projects. You will bring your technical expertise to bear upon negotiations for projects of international scope.

You have a degree in an engineering subject (public works,  mining, geology, metallurgy), which you have already successfully put to use in the professional, commercial sphere, ideally with international experience in the public works/ quarrying/ mining materials sector. You speak English fluently. You are flexible and available to travel for site visits, passionate about BtoB technical sales, a persuasive, diplomatic negotiator with a strong interest in Africa.
