MICROSOFT Premier Field Engineer for Development Technologies JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose of Workgroup (PFE)
Through trusted advisor relationships and through the optimization and successful implementation of technology, Premier Field Engineering helps to accelerate customer adoption and productive use of Microsoft products.
Premier Field Engineers provide reactive and proactive support to Enterprise Customers for the most technically complex or politically sensitive support situations in Microsoft.
Job’s Purpose
Be the single-point of contact to provide high quality reactive & proactive dedicated developer support to strategic Microsoft Services customers to build and maintain Microsoft based solutions using Microsoft Development technologies.
Key Accountabilities
Responsibilities:
• Managing a diverse and frequently complex scope of services engagements
• Supporting customer development teams in their development projects by providing technical guidance and solving technical problems
• Deliver customized training focused on emerging solution with all products included to improve customer readiness.
• Acting as technical or business resource for broad and complex issues, and may be assigned to strategic accounts
• Develop and implement strategies for providing proactive support resulting in fewer incidents, increased availability, or accelerated deployments.
• Working with management when necessary, to resolve sensitive account issues
• Strategically analyzing the risks, benefits, and opportunities of various solutions as needed
• Develop a relationship with technical directors or lead architects for the technology you support resulting in more participation in planning and improved satisfaction in support.
• Partner with the TAM and the V-Team to effectively manage hot-sites including documented action plans and daily status updates for the customer and Microsoft management.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1) Essential Experience
The ideal candidate should have at least 6 years experience with several MSFT Enterprise products with strong development experience. Hands on experience in last two versions of Sharepoint Server is a must. Customer relationship skills is also very important for this position.
2) Technical/Functional Skills
MOSS experience is a must,
Minimum 6 years of relevant working experience in areas like;
Database Technologies (Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS),
Developer Technologies (.NET Framework, ASP.NET, Web Services, XML),
Developer Products (Microsoft Visual Studio) and Office System Development Tools
3) Personal Attributes/Interpersonal Skills
• The role requires an individual who is resourceful, confident under pressure, and has demonstrated skill in task prioritization, crisis management and expectation management.
• The role requires both broad and deep technology knowledge, and the ability to help architect systems which provide end-to-end technology solutions to business problems.
• It is essential to have a passion for customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer/partner experience.
• Demonstrated ability to engage in senior level technology decision maker discussions
• Deep experience with the design, development and troubleshooting/debugging of core Microsoft (competitive technology is an asset) software systems.
• Demonstrated ability in achieving customer and partner satisfaction
4) Qualifications
• 4 year technical degree, plus minimum 6 years experience on enterprise project experience in systems development, including enterprise architecture.
• Demonstrated technical competence: MOSS, IIS and MS development platforms
• MCSD or other applicable advanced certification is a Plus.
