Role Purpose

The purpose of the Voice Technology Solutions Specialist is to provide best in class technology expertise around Voice over IP solutions from Microsoft and their integration with existing PABX and Voice technology, to support our goal aim of surrounding the PABX and securing Voice business for the future, and enabling a strong network of partners to be ready to deploy Microsoft Unified Communications solutions and Voice solutions, by helping these partners to deploy flagship wins at key customers.

Key Accountabilities

Assist MS account teams and partners in delivering “Voice Design Wins” and “Voice Lighthouse Wins” where customers are using a Microsoft-only Voice solution for a number of seats, replacing legacy telephone equipment.

Implement the MS strategy of “surrounding the PBX” by both partnering with PBX vendors to secure interoperable solutions with existing telephony and voice solutions, and competing with them to ensure as deployment of Microsoft functionality wherever possible in the Unified Communications stack.

Engaging in presales activity (Demonstrations, Architectural Design and Proof of Concepts) for customers to help to secure lighthouse the above wins

Heavy Partner interaction including supporting key partner driven deals, helping with partner readiness and especially supporting VPP (Voice Partner Program) partners / National System Integrators to secure and deploy Voice Design wins and Lighthouse wins.

Gathering key feedback from customers and partners and escalating feedback with the Microsoft product groups concerning features, roadmaps, deal blockers etc.

Acting as the local expert to transfer knowledge to other Microsoft Account Teams, Specialist Sales resources and Consultant resources in South Africa and occasionally elsewhere in the MEA area to help them understand Microsoft’s Voice business and technology.

Qualifications

Degree level in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent
