Retail Merchandiser Alternate

Principal Duties and Responsibilities



  • In the Hallmark Card Department, you will replenish, straighten and track inventory of Hallmark product in your assigned stores. 

  • You will retrieve your shipments from the Receiving area of the store and then work with a hand-held computer to scan bar codes to determine product placement, track inventory and determine replenishment needs. 

  • When service in the department is complete, you must enter your commute time and mileage on your mobile CrownConnect device. 

  • You then must review, approve and select to send your time records to Hallmark. 

  • You must have Wi-Fi connectivity in order to send your work time and it must be submitted on the day it was worked. 

  • It is important to know that this can be a very physical job requiring you to be able to lift boxes up to 50 pounds as well as stoop, squat, walk and stand during your shift. 

  • You must be able to work within the budgeted hours for the store. 

  • Your assigned stores, work schedule and hours could change at any time due to business needs. 


Job Specifics



  • Ithis position you will be providing support to Hallmark merchandisers as an alternate to help cover vacations, sick leave, and offer additional support when necessary. 

  • You will be providing support to various retail stores within 80 miles of North Terre Haute, IN. 

  • You must start your work day between 8am and 11am and be able to work into the afternoon hours if necessary. 

  • The days that you work could vary from week to week, so you must have the flexibility to work any day of the week as needed, including some weekends. 

  • Although hours are not guaranteed, you will typically work 16-20 hours each week during non-seasonal times and 26-30 hours each week during busy holiday periods. 

  • You must be available to work the day before and up to an 8-hour shift the day after any major card holiday. 

  • You may also be asked to assist with occasional installation activities in the area. 

  • When assisting with installations you will be responsible for working with an installation team on store fixture installation of new stores, store remodels, store relocation’s, and product revisions. 

  • You will be reimbursed for any mileage incurred over 30 miles round-trip and are paid your hourly wage for any travel time incurred over 40 minutes round-trip.
