Audiovisual Technician

Responsibilities: Provides administrative areas with diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and upgrades of audiovisual tech

nologies; installs, maintains, performs diagnostics on, and supports audiovisual technologies as required; responds quickly to requests for assistance; efficiently troubleshoots technical problems and independently implements solutions; maintains an accurate inventory of administrative audiovisual equipment; works to establish and reinforce proper use of audiovisual technologies by faculty, staff and students; knowledgeably participates in the solicitation and evaluation of audiovisual equipment contracts, and assists with contract-based technology installations and maintenance; creates and maintains accurate written records and technical schematics of technologies installed; assists in training student employees regarding customer service as well as the operation and troubleshooting of audiovisual technologies; works with EIT staff as well as with other members of campus (Facilities, Instructional Technology, etc.) to ensure that all faculty, staff and students receive excellent technology support and service.

Qualifications: High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in instructional technology; audiovisual/media technology or related field preferred; experience maintaining Crestron control systems and monitoring applications (e.g., Crestron Fusion) desirable; experience working in higher education desired; excellent written and oral communication skills required; demonstrated creative, flexible and technical problem-solving skills required; ability to work evenings and weekends required; knowledge of audiovisual equipment; hands-on audiovisual troubleshooting; ability to install, repair, and maintain audiovisual equipment; advanced problem solving skills; proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to use the internet as a problem-solving resource.
