STEAM MECHANIC


Indiana State University Steam Mechanic Indiana State University is seeking a Steam Mechanic to maintain and operate its power plant facility and utility distribution systems. To qualify the applicant must possess a thorough knowledge in gas and oil fired high-pressure steam boilers, high and low pressure steam, condensate, compressed air systems, pumps, fans, water treatment and purification equipment including reverse osmosis units, digital control systems, meters, gauges, actuators, general instrumentation, electrical and pneumatic systems, metal cutting and welding. Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years as a Steam Systems Technician or similar maintenance/repair position and a minimum of 3 years experience as a Stationary Systems Operator. The qualified applicant must possess a valid drivers license, be able to work in confined spaces, at heights over 10 feet, and lift 80 lb. bags of salt.
