Driver Manager


Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing accountability in a dedicated, customer on-site dispatch environment along with other company managers in support of a 24/7 operation to include order entry, dispatching, customer service, and recruiting drivers.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


·Provide driver and customer leadership with other dispatch managers


·Enter loads from customer tenders in to the company’s TMW system.


·Schedule and/or reschedule delivery times for loads.


·Validate all load data prior to accepting as delivered.


·Dispatch in an environment of 75 – 90 CDL drivers in accordance with established procedures.


·Provide detailed directions and instructions to drivers.


·Monitor movement to maintain on-time status.


·Update management on problem loads, and the actions that will or have been taken.


·Update customers on the status of critical loads.


·Maximize equipment  and driver utilization


·Handle short term equipment rental and driver requisitions


·Assist Recruiting in interviewing and training drivers


Must be available to work occasional nights or weekends when required

Job Requirements


·Minimum of 2 years customer service and operations management experience in the transportation industry.


·Transportation, Logistics, or Business degree preferred


·Truckload dispatch experience preferred


·Excellent leadership and management skill


·Team player that understands team concepts


·Must have knowledge of FMCSR and Hours of Service.


·Must have knowledge of CSA.


·Must have experience with company Drivers.


·Ability to make sound decisions and implement in a timely manner.


·Ability to coach and develop drivers in an effective highly motivated way.


·Proficient computer skills in both Microsoft Office and transportation software such as TMW.


·Excellent customer service skills.


·Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently and professionally.


· Ability to maintain a quality and accountable relationship with drivers.
