Process Operator job - DuPont - Terre Haute, IN

DuPont Nutrition & Health is seeking a Process Operator to join our team in Terre Haute, Indiana. In this role, you will report to the Maintenance Coordinator and will be responsible for Process operations as well as support for all Plant Utility functions. These responsibilities include starting up and shutting down complex equipment, completing setup changes, monitoring process variables and sampling and testing.

Key Elements:
Proactively startup and shutdown feeders, blenders, flakers, resin columns, evaporators, mills, use hoppers, pumps, HVAC equipment, sifters, water systems, boilers, air compressors and chillers.


Perform pre-startup activities on reactors, mixers, and evaporators.


Safely perform washes on process equipment.


Perform regeneration steps for resin column operation.


Changeover process lines to accommodate various product types and forms.


Assemble and disassemble equipment components such as pump gears and other devices.


Physically monitor normal operations, correcting or reporting variances from desired levels.


Monitor Production and Utility equipment via the computerized distributed process control system.


Sample and document the process stream at various intervals and locations to monitor product quality. Record the appropriate information as required.


Perform Water sampling and testing as needed.


Perform minor mechanical tasks ensuring that equipment is in good operating condition.


Operate within GMP guidelines at all times, paying particular attention to product quality, food safety and area housekeeping.


Comply with all requirements of the quality, environmental, and safety management systems.


Assist in the completion of other departmental tasks as required.

Job Qualifications


Qualifications:
Associates Degree in a related field and/or previous chemical processing experience, plus two years in a packaging or process position, is preferred but not required.


Must be capable of completing work while wearing a respirator.


Must have a valid driver’s license.

Training:
Class 3 Boiler Operations Certification within 18 months.


Actively pursue the State IDEM WT2 and DSL drinking water certifications along with State IDEM Class B industrial wastewater certification for the Dupont Terre Haute system


Applicant will have to track and maintain all CEU credits each year to maintain certifications.


1195 Intermediate Process Operations Training within eighteen months of hire.


1195 Skilled Process Operations Training within 18 months following completion of the 1195 Intermediate Training requirements.
