ABOUT THE COMPANY
Joink, LLC was founded as an Internet Service Provider, providing dial-up, DSL and fixed wireless broadband Internet services. Today, the company provides connectivity for customers who span the landscape from residential to enterprise using technologies that include leased lines, unlicensed wireless, licensed wireless, and fiber optics. Also, the company provides managed hosting services including virtual machine, web/email, and offsite backup storage. And finally, the Company’s technology services group leverages its enterprise knowledge of networking, software, storage, and telephony technologies to provide design, installation, and continued supported around key technologies from companies such as VMware, Cisco UCS, IBM, Veeam and Microsoft.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Joink has earned the contract of managing the IT infrastructure for a key customer and continues to have opportunities for providing consulting services for other customers in various industries. This includes all aspect of systems, networking, wireless, and end user computing devices. This position would also providing inputs to the professional development and day to day task management and direction of the IT staff. This position will directly support the Chief Technology Consultant. The candidate selected to fill this position must be an expert communicator and technologist who is passionate about delivering a world class technology experience to our niche customer.
This team member will be given autonomy in representing Joink and completing work, should be a self-starter, able to prioritize and report on work status, and be committed to complete transparency in performing key responsibilities. In addition, this team member should be capable of finding solutions to problems and be comfortable bringing both the customer’s management and Joink’s management a problem along with one or more proposed solutions.
REPORTS TO
- Chief Technology Officer, with daily supervision by Chief Technology Consultant
SUPERVISES
- No Joink direct reports
- May lead, train, or participate in work team assignments within both the customer’s environment as well as Joink
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This associate has the following key responsibilities:
- Interact with customer’s executive, key leaders, staff, and customers in a way that is professional, articulate, and productive.
- Always serve as an ambassador to our mission to provide a world class IT experience
- Assist the existing Chief Technology Consultant in preparing short term and long term IT plans. Execute such plans.
- Respond to requests for support from stakeholders
- Assist in managing the delivery and support of IT resources to stakeholders on time and on budget
- Work with the customer to provide inputs on IT purchasing
- Participate in plans to retain, develop, and optimize the use of customer’s existing IT staff
- Request support from inside Joink on an as needed basis where expertise exists in our organization for matters not within the capabilities of the customer’s IT team
- Handle confidential information – including restricted use of cell phone conversations in a public setting, secure versus insecure email, and paper/electronic recordkeeping in compliance with customer and Joink requirements.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Key qualifications required to fill this position are:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred (degree need not be in IT field – a degree in organizational leadership would be preferred for example)
- 2+ years of IT management experience over teams of five or more staff

- Able to write technical and operational process documents
- Excellent multi-tasking skills required to carry out multiple projects on time
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously both running solo as well as in a team environment
- Able to maintain a calm and professional demeanor
- Willing to learn new technologies and perform additional duties as needed
WORKING CONDITIONS
- 8 AM – 5 PM Monday through Friday
- Occasional week day evening meetings
- Attend some conferences
