PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

This position oversees all facility management activities for Thomson Reuters (TR) locations in South America. Direct facility management responsibilities include, but are not limited to, administrative and maintenance services, office services, landlord relations, space management, energy management, janitorial and infrastructure maintenance. This role will partner and support other Thomson Reuters organizations as they implement, project management, risk management, security, environmental health and safety, energy management and sourcing programs. This position is responsible for providing a safe, comfortable and productive work environment that assists our employees in meeting business goals.

The South America region includes all location with the continents. This portfolio totals ~500k SF in circa 100 locations across 10 countries. Major operations are located in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Buenos Aires, Argentina and Santiago, Chile.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

· Coordinates and oversees the development and implementation of all facilities management programs and services. This includes facility management occupancy services, landlord relations, sustainability, mailroom, preventative maintenance programs and other administrative service programs. Responsible for the development and improvement of priority business systems and processes for these programs. Partners with and supports other internal and external resources as they implement real estate transactions, project management, risk management, security, environmental health and safety, energy management and sourcing programs. Ensures the integration of activities, systems and processes with the balance of the GBS organization. Tracks and reports on customer satisfaction and vendor performance. Responsible for the establishment of best practices both within the industry as well as those of the TR worldwide facilities organization. (35%)

· Manages selected contractors and vendors appointed directly by TR and those provided by our respective landlords. Monitors their work to insure their timely completion of tasks, consistency with company standards & procedures, and that costs meet established budgets and exceed performance expectations. (20%)

· Coordinates and supports acquisition, disposition and integration activity in support of business strategy. (15%)

· Prepares and manages the operating and capital budgets for the region's facilities. Conducts annual operational reviews and efficiency analysis critical to meeting needs of customers. (10%)

· Responsible for the supervision, development and coaching of department staff. Ensures that each member of the staff has a career development and training plan. Executes the duties common to all supervisory positions. (10%)

· Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal environmental and safety regulations, interfacing with local officials and governmental agencies as required. (10%)

RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS:

Directs all facilities related staff in the region. Requires ability to manage multiple projects at once including coordinating work efforts of internal and external resources as needed. Has the ability to coordinate the work efforts, including contracting for and leading resources within the facilities department, external contractors, and clients to support the requirements of a program. Performs these functions with minimal direct supervision.FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Develops and manages approved operating budgets for each location. Responsible to track, monitor and provide performance metrics for each location. Responsible for an estimated annual expense budget of $10 M and capital budget of $10M.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education (Minimum requirements):

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in an area such as business, engineering, architecture, real estate or related field or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge and Skills (Minimum requirements):

· A comprehensive knowledge of corporate property management, facilities management and planning, administrative practices and procedures, budgeting, people management across several disciplines in multiple locations is required.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Candidate must be fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.

· Knowledge of purchasing, security, mechanical and electrical maintenance, shipping and receiving, mail and janitorial operations is required.

· Problem identification, problem solving and conflict resolution knowledge is mandatory.

· Demonstrated aptitude in effective management of people, and leading cross-functional teams.

· Strong service orientation a must.

· Possess strong analytical, organizational, administrative abilities.

· Ability to travel 25% of the time to other Thomson Reuters sites in order to coordinate work activities and perform management duties.

Previous Experience - Years/Type (Minimum requirements):

Minimum of ten (10) years experience in a corporate facilities management or real estate environment is required. Prior experience in a collaborative business environment with significant acquisition/disposition activity a plus. Experience with physical plants and administrative management is required. A thorough understanding of project and facilities management and planning, familiarity with feasibility studies, effective space utilization and associated technologies such as BMS and CAFM is required. Ability to work with all levels of management and others outside the organization in a professional manner is required.
