Production Supervisor

Job Qualifications:
 
  • Analyze problems reported by previous shift to plan and organize daily work duties of shift personnel.

  • Supervise work in the field to diagnose problems and monitor employee job performance.

  • Become familiar with CCR operations and procedures. Monitor instrument readings and assist employees in troubleshooting production problems.

  • Have basic understanding of MSHA and environmental regulations to ensure plant operations within these regulations.

  • Ensure a safe work environment.

  • Understand and administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

  •  Set shift production goals based on equipment operating conditions and quality of material in process.

  • Diagnose maintenance problems and write and enter work orders into computer.

  • Supervise maintenance employees called in for emergency repairs to machinery and equipment.

  • Administer emergency first aid and call in medical help if needed.

  • Patrol plant and report security problem to appropriate agencies.

  • Monitor and assist in the training of replacement workers.

  • Monitor operations to strive to meet pre-established production and quality standards.

  • Complete required paperwork such as:  employee time sheets, safety and security reports, maintenance work orders, stores withdrawal forms, etc.

  • Supervise servicemen employees during yearly brick jobs and coordinate with other department heads of progress

Must complete all assigned work in compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory requirements (i.e., MSHA, OHSA, DOT, DOL, etc.), including safety programs administered at a State or Local level where allowed by the Department of Labor.  Must maintain awareness of surroundings at all times and perform their work in a safe and productive manner.  In the event of a workplace incident, immediate notification to a supervisor and/or manager is required.


Job Experience:
 

  • Minimum high school degree or GED 

  • 5-10 years’ experience in a cement manufacturing or related industry desired

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment, related industry preferred

  • Excellent leadership, organization and time management skills

  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to run mobile equipment

  • Maintenance/mechanic background experience a plus

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, select the proper course of action and utilize workforce and materials to complete the job. 

  • Ability to work without direct supervision.

  • This position will be assigned to work rotating shifts.
