Manufacturing Supervisor - ADVICS - Terre Haute, IN

Summary/Objective

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers and Team Leaders engaged in maintaining or supporting all line activities necessary to meet daily targets and objectives by performing the following duties.


Essential Functions


  • Reviews production schedules to ensure that it meets both internal and external needs.

  • Reviews amounts of in-process stock required for operations based on production schedules and adjusts as necessary to meet daily requirements.

  • Interprets specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.

  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.

  • Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.

  • Confirms work procedures to meet production schedules.

  • Supports supervisors in developing, recommending and implementing measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists supervisors and team members in solving work problems.

  • Reviews all lineside documents created by supervisors and team leaders to ensure that information is accurate.

  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

  • Delegates work assignments; Matches the responsibility to the person; Gives authority to work independently; Sets expectations and monitors delegated activities; Provides recognition for results.

  • Includes staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement; Takes responsibility for subordinates’ activities; Makes self available to staff; Provides regular performance feedback.

  • Must be able to perform any and all issues concerning lines or products with members of upper management. Must take an active role and participate in meetings as required.

Supervisory Responsibility


This position supervises direct team members and Team Leaders.


Work Environment


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Personal protective equipment may be required.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This is a full-time position.


Travel


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.


Required Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university and five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
