REP-ADMITTING II UHC-UHC PATIENT REGISTRATION job - Union Hospital - Clinton, IN

Job Duties:
Identifies patient liabilities with respect to previous account balance, copay, deductible, coinsurance amounts.

Collects appropriate liabilities from patients via credit card, check, and cash.


Securely maintains petty cash levels to appropriately provide change to patients when necessary.


Securely maintains payments received from patients and issues receipts.


Appropriately identifies and refers patients to Financial Specialists/Counselors for follow-up account needs.


Appropriately uses PC for patient information.


Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication skills.


Willing to rotate shifts.


Willing to work weekends and holidays.


Manages time well and completes tasks with minimal direction.


Demonstrates ability to manage multiple priorities, makes independent judgments, and asks for assistance in unusual situations.


Is willing and able to learn Pre-Admission Registration and fax coordination.


Is sensitive to the socio-economic, cultural, and special needs of patients.


Willing and able to learn the physical layout of the Hospital and assist visitors and patients with directions.


Is willing and able to work in the Emergency Room Registration area.


Is willing to do all types of registrations in Union Hospital.


Is able to make insurance calls for verifications, opening utilization review cases, and pre-certifications.


Is willing and able to work in the Medical Records Department.


Accepts other duties as assigned.


Requirements; Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Medical terminology preferred, must be flexible to meet the demands of a 24 hour operation.
