Position Purpose/Summary

The purpose of this position is to run, monitor, and maintain all outside areas for SG Solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain outside area equipment, check oil levels, temperature pressures, and make

adjustments on equipment. Perform maintenance duties such as but not limited to replacing gaskets, valves, filters, and other tasks as assigned.

• Observe and monitor appropriate equipment and write work orders for failed or broken equipment.


• Perform lab sampling and analysis.


• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

1. Coordinating skills: Able to adjust/coordinate your work schedule with other jobs to ensure completion of the job by end of the appropriate shift. Able to coordinate appropriate check lists and maintain accurate detail equipment logs.

2. Analytical skills: Able to run lab analysis for process specification. Communications skills: Able to effectively communicate with various internal and external customers

3. Influencing skills: Able to influence other areas on the right way to operate, and identify unsafe conditions and make recommendations.

4. Basic Leadership skills: Able to train new operators on proper processes and procedures.

5. Vocational skills: Able to operate plant machinery as necessary. Able to troubleshoot problems with equipment.

Education/Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Seven months to one year prior experience


• Three to Five years prior experience preferred

Job Complexity

Job requires the knowledge of the plants chemical process, safety hazards and environmental permits.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

This position may have indirect responsibility in assigning/allocating and/or overseeing the following: Maintenance area to tagout/lockout equipment for repair, or issue safe work permits for work that needs to be done on appropriate equipment.

Working Environment and Conditions

The incumbent spends approximately 70% of his/her time developing and maintaining business contacts within the organization. He/she will also spend approximately 30% of his/her time developing and maintaining business contacts outside of the organization. This position occupies a typical plant manufacturing environment. Exposure to weather elements is substantial. Incumbents will drive various vehicles in the course of performing their job responsibilities. Incumbents spend approximately 20% sitting, 40% standing, and 40% walking in the course of performing their job responsibilities and are unlikely to handle materials weighing more than 50 pounds without mechanical assistance. Incumbents will frequently stoop, bend and climb up to 500 feet. Incumbents will use the following office machines inn the course of performing their duties: computer, copy machine, and fax machine. This job does require shift work, 12 hour shifts, overtime, weekend and nights and holidays as necessary. This job will require wearing appropriate safety gear, and exposure to extreme hot and cold weather.
