Job Description
Are you looking to join a fast paced Human Resource TEAM? Great Dane Terre Haute Plant is looking for a HR ADMIN/SPECIALIST that performs generalist administrative functions that support compliance with company employment policies, legislative employment requirements and recordkeeping best practices. The position also provides assistance to employees with questions related to individual information and company policies.
1. Data entry of all new employees into ADP system. Entry into systems of all data changes related to employees personal information, job assignment or employment status.
2. Maintains personnel files, ensures that all required documents are on file in the appropriate location.
3. Screen candidates and execute efforts that support exempt hiring needs to drive business growth.
4. Processes terminations ensuring that documentation of reason for termination of employment and all completion of all related company processes are recorded. Coordinates issue of final payroll to departing employee.
5. Coordinates and communicates payroll adjustments for each pay period to include one-off adjustments and other misc. adjustments.
6. Generates and distributes reports related to manning, hire and termination numbers and labor related information requests.
7. Explains payroll calculations and investigates payroll discrepancies for employees with payroll questions.
Secondary Job Function: 1. Assists with completing unemployment claims responses.
2. Acts as 3rd party witness for disciplinary action or incident investigation meetings.
3. Coordinates ordering and stocking of departmental office supplies.
4. Additional duties as assigned.
A. EDUCATION
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
B. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: Strong organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, Power Point
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency using internet based software applications.
Data entry, typing proficiency
Problem solving skills, the ability to use knowledge of basic math, policies and rules and reasoning to determine where and how errors have been made and be able to explain to others.
Demonstrated willingness to address difficult situations and communicate unwelcome information.
Outlook or similar email system skills
PREFERRED: Proficiency and previous use of internet based HRIS, Time & Attendance, and Recruiting software systems.
