Manager in Training Program
The Manager in Training (MIT) program is a blended learning program focused on immersing a manager in all aspects of managing a multi-million dollar business for Abercrombie & Fitch. Throughout the program, MITs will learn the necessary principles of management, beginning with the essential manager functions required to run our business. MITs will also gain an understanding of how to create the best in-store experience by learning about leadership behaviors, recruiting and staffing, diversity and inclusion, human resources, visual merchandising, and customer experience.
Training takes place in our U.S. and international store locations and involves a balance of formal learning and on the job training. The program is structured and provides the MIT with consistent feedback from the Store Manager and District Manager. As the MIT gains knowledge and experience, additional responsibilities will be added to their role within the store’s management team.
Successful completion of this program is the first step toward leadership. At Abercrombie & Fitch, we strongly advocate a philosophy of promotion from within. All of our store management, including District Managers, Regional Managers, Directors – even the Executive Vice President – have gone through the MIT program.
