SOF Instructor (1979-317)

These positions are contingent upon contact award.

Possess in-depth knowledge of night vision, lasers, weapons, and weapon sights including varying technologies, capabilities, and their strengths/weaknesses. Provide personnel with knowledge of varying minor caliber weapon systems. Training to include but not limited to the following:

New Equipment Training – Provide updated instructional materials, updated training materials and provide on-the-job training for systems as fielded by the Program Manager.

Refresher Training – Provide instructional support

Classroom Training – Provide instructional support

Required Skills:

1. 30mm Gun Weapon Systems – This consists of support both CONUS and OCONUS locations are in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait and possible other locations. Current systems are the GAU23 installed on MC 130 AC, MK46 Gun weapons installed on U.S. Navy Ships and the MSI 30mm Gun Weapons System.


2. Small Arms/Visual Augmentation Systems (SA/VAS) – This consists of support both CONUS and Current OCONUS locations are in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait and possible other locations to be outline by Customer.


3. Ground Based Operational Surveillance Systems (GBOSS) – This consists of support both CONUS and OCONUS. Specific locations will be outlined by Customer


4. Counter Internal Explosive device I1B1 System – This consists of support both CONUS and OCONUS. Specific locations will be outlined by Customer

Required Experience:

1. Formal instructor training


2. 2+ tp 10+ yr instruction experience or 6+ yrs instruction experience (SOF)


3. Minimum of 2 yrs instructing small arms operations and maintenance courses


4. 3+ yr operations/maintenance of small arms or electronic systems like JCREW
