Position responsibilities:
· Performs all job duties as outlined in the job description for CSS Instrument Technician
· Takes “charge” of the CSS Department in the absence of the supervisor
· Serves as resource person to train new employees
· Can pull customized case cart sheets for all surgical procedures. Must know basic anatomy
· Knows all surgical instrumentation in-house and the locations or alternatives
· Assists supervisor with ordering supplies, completing payroll, and maintaining quality control of environment and sterilization monitoring
Essential educational/licensure, skills and experience:

• High School graduate


• Above average communication skills in all forms


• Must meet basic educational requirements of CSS Instrument Technician II with at least two (2) years experience in a CSS department.


• Must have a general knowledge of basic anatomy, microbiology, principles and theory of sterilization, infection control, isolation techniques, and safe practices in CSS with an understanding of laws and legal processes as they relate to the JCAHO, ISDH, and OSHA requirements in the department.


• Current BLS certification must be maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital
