The Black Belt 4 will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition you will:

Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional team empowered to execute the Lean Six Sigma strategy and tools to improve process capability and eliminate defects

Deliver breakthrough levels of improvement in process capability, producibility of designs and business processes to reduce defects and attain world-class levels of quality through completion of a training program on Lean Six Sigma philosophy, theory, and application tools / tactics

Facilitate, train, and coach team members in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools

Work with operating leaders and teams to uncover and assess lean Six Sigma opportunities for GE and its suppliers

In conjunction with the Master Black Belt quality leaders and Quality Champions, serve as a change agent in institutionalizing Lean Six Sigma quality

Constantly seek, share, and implement best practices

Communicate teams’ progress to Champions, Business Leaders, and Master Black Belts

Educate, coach, and mentor Green Belts and others on Lean Six Sigma philosophy and application

Propose process technology improvements and capital expenditures

Identify potential process improvement projects

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college

At least 5 additional years of experience in a Process Improvement position

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

Additional leadership experience in the areas of Operations, Manufacturing, or Quality is preferred

Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification is preferred (GE employees only)

Executive level presentation skills

Demonstrated ability to excel in all customer service areas

Responsible for meeting customer / business needs as well as developing direct reports

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Experience working in a Teaming or Self-Directed Workforce Environment

GE Aviation Engine Services Tri-Remanufacturing, Inc. is a component repair facility that primarily repairs honeycomb seal rings and segments for jet aircraft engines. The facility, located in southwest Indiana is approximately 66,000 square feet and has roughly 100 employees. Terre Haute is home to Indiana State University, named by the Princeton Review as one of the nation’s “best value” undergraduate institutions & included on the “Best in the Midwest” list of colleges and universities. Another highly rated private engineering school, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, is located just east of the city as well.
