CASA Part-time Volunteer Coordinator/Mon... - Vigo County, IN - Terre Haute, IN


The Volunteer Coordinator Position is supervised by the Director of CASA. This regularly scheduled part-time up to 29 hours with flexible office hours, Monday through Friday.

Examples of Duties:


· Supervise and maintain monthly contact with volunteers assigned by the Director
· Distribute court related reports to the volunteers in a timely manner.
· Ability to utilize digital case management systems.
· Assist in the National CASA Training Program for new volunteers.
· Oversee and update cases as needed.
· Assist with court reports.
· Attend training workshops and conference.
· Proofread and edit reports completed by volunteers.
· Assist the Director of CASA in other matters as needed and requested.
SPECIALIZED DUTIES FOR MONITORING:
· Supervise, observe and check on the progress and quality of the case.
· Investigate, facilitate, advocate and monitor all on a limited basis.
· File Monitor court report.
· Attend court hearings.
· Research case background and current status of case to determine if case can be monitored or if it warrants more intense attention.
· Contact and work with the DCS family case worker assigned to each and every case appointed.
· Gather medical, educational and placement information on CHINS.
· Collect and research birth parents past and current status including drug screens and service compliance.
· Meet and visit with the children involved in the case to be their ‘voice’ in court.
· Make contact with all people involved in the case.
· Participate in Monitoring as needed and requested.
SPECIALIZED DUTIES FOR GRANT WRITING:
· Research new grant opportunities as well as annual ones.
· Write grants for CASA program.
· Be mindful of upcoming due dates for grants and work according to schedule.
· Assist with annual reports as needed and requested.


Typical Qualifications:


· Must possess a Bachelor’s degree.
· Experience in the social service profession is desirable.
· Familiar with Microsoft Office applications/data management systems.
· Knowledge of court proceedings is desirable.

· Ability to take initiative and problem solve on a daily basis.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Familiarity with community resources.
· Understanding the dynamics of abused and neglected.
· Available for flexible hours.
· Required to attend 30 hour pre-service CASA Volunteer training.
