Vice President
A Midwestern Bottler & Beverages Company, with national brand affiliation has an opening for a Vice President of Food Service. This skilled executive will have a minimum of 5 years previous experience in a senior leadership or executive role and experience in managing a large fountain, vending and food service organization. This position also requires experience in managing a geographically distributed organization, servicing key accounts and managing a P&L. The Vice President, Food Service is responsible for strategic planning, executing the departmental annual plan and providing executive leadership.
Job Duties:
- Assures leadership development through execution of the organization’s talent management program
- Develops, communicates, and executes the Company’s goals and objectives process in order to deliver budget sales, share, financial and other functional department goals.
- Maximizes sales through the development and execution of sales and marketing programs designed for foodservice department, key accounts and extended marketplace
- Provides financial oversight to the Food Service organization including: capital deployment and ROI
- Fosters and supports a collaborative culture within department and organization.
- Provides operating and financial oversight to fountain, vending, service and delivery functions associated with the food service organization
- Assures that competitive market information is received and analyzed so market opportunities may be capitalized upon for an increased share of market, volume, and profitability.
- Ensure clear communication and collaboration within and among all departments across the organization.
- Develop and communicate sales strategies and plans which facilitate Food Service departments in achieving their profit plans and monthly and annual sales plans.
- Recommend marketing programs, pricing strategies for bids with regards to schools, colleges, universities, special venues (i.e., fairs, parks, convention centers, zoos, etc.) and third party vending companies and write associated contracts.
- Establish redeployment strategy for effective asset utilization, recommend refurbishment programs and authorize the termination of irreparable equipment.
- Facilitate and coordinate effective planning and implementation of marketing and promotional efforts within the company
- Maintains confidentiality of financial information, promotions, pricing, contracts, profit and loss reports, customer information, employee information and other sensitive and confidential information.
- Ensures that company policies, standards and procedures are met, followed and maintained in accordance with established company policy
- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required to meet workload demands.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or closely related field; 7- 10 years closely related experience (e.g. key account, food service experience) ; minimum of 5 years of previous senior leadership or executive role; 3-5 years of previous supervisory experience.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, operate a computer and interpret data and other information through reports and trend analysis.
- Valid Driver’s license and must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment.
- Manage a geographically distributed organization.
- Knowledge of retail sales environment and food service sales; beverage industry; standard selling practices; financial management (e.g. budgets, capital expenditures, profit and loss statements); read and interpret financial statements.
- Skill in selling products and promotions; internal and external customer service.
- People Leadership: budgeting for labor and other expenditures, ability to exhibit strong leadership skills; develop and execute strategic plans; train, develop, manage and lead a team; work quickly, efficiently and independently; multi-task; communicate effectively with customers and other employees both verbally and in writing.
