Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) Job

Essential Responsibilities * Work with the regional sourcing teams to identify, approve and qualify potential suppliers.
* Responsible for supplier identification in full adherence to GE and the local compliance requirement.
* Ensure all sourcing/purchasing Processes and activities are compliant and in strict adherence to GE policies, standards and guidelines and strict adherence to the local rules and regulations
* Lead and take ownership of the processes of identifying, qualifying and approving new suppliers as per the strategic plan or when required.
* Develop and execute sourcing strategies to address specific project requirement like local contents.
* Work closely with the Corporate and other businesses sourcing teams and demonstrate high level of team spirit to ensure best results.
* Execute supplier approval process ensuring Financial screening/Legal review/Capability assessment/Capacity assessment/EHS
* Complete Supplier qualifications as required assuring that assigned suppliers have capability and processes to deliverhigh quality product.
* Conduct surveillance audits to assurethat Suppliers have effective process control, rigorous product acceptance standards, and robust quality systems.
* Monitor supplier non-conformance performance via SDRs and Service Notices; identify and drive process improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
* Conduct process capability analyses for CTQs characteristics and to work with suppliers to improve process capability.
* Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
* Work closely with Sourcing COE's,Business teams, Manufacturing, and Engineering to eliminate roadblocks andcommunication barriers that may effectquality and delivery requirements.
* Partner with Engineering teams, product service engineering, commodity leaders, & buyers, on all activity required to effectively provide quality sourcing support.
* Integrate Energy Sourcing Quality procedures, develop, & execute strategyto reduce risk to sourced material and services
* Develop and lead First PieceQualification plans, process/productverification efforts, quality system audits,and supplier surveillance program.
* Assure quality through approval ofManufacturing Process Plan, Product and Process Quality Plan, product qualityreviews, verification of quality documentation, monitoring of compliance, and closure of qualifications.
* Coordinate initiation and resolution of Supplier Deviation Requests, material substitutions and quality control reviewson detected non-conformances at supplierfacility and at site.
* Lead process improvement effort using GE Energy Quality systems, e-tools and procedures to drive quality & process improvements.* Leverage statistical tools for evaluationof process capability on critical-to-quality parameters and use that tool to driveprocess/quality improvements.
* Participate in supplier design/engineering review & approval process and internal NPI process.
* Lead Cost of Quality reduction based oncustomer (site) and assembly (mfg plants
* Establish a structured approach to improve quality assurance and drive consistency/adherence to quality procedures and requirements consistent with GEE Global Sourcing quality processes and procedures.
* Drive continuous improvement activities at Suppliers regarding quality, cycle, and delivery performance through use of Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, metrics, and SPC methodology.
* Establish a structured approach to actively participate in NPI tollgate processes to ensure understanding of design intent and technical requirements as related to more effective and timely Supplier qualifications.
* Establish programs to monitor and improve supplier process capabilities for CTQs.
* Serve as technical focal point for supplier activities directed toward process control and quality assurance of all transformer components.
