- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering field with 5+ years of experience
- Experience in materials science, metal fatigue, and fracture mechanics
- Experience with FEA (Ansys, Abacus, etc)
- Data processing, curve fitting, statistical analysis
- Programming skills such as Visual Basic, Matlab, Python, PERL, C++ are helpful
Summary Description:
The Critical Part Lifing analyzes mechanical components and evaluates the life for transportation, transmission, and generation of energy. This role is part of a team supporting the use and manufacture/assembly of a gas turbine engine, with particular emphasis on safety critical components.
Performing the following tasks:
- Generation and Maintenance of Engineering Critical Parts Plans and Life Management Plans
- Low Cycle Fatigue, Crack Growth, High Cycle Fatigue, and Creep analysis
- Perform Risk Assessments
- Testing
Critical Parts Lifing Engineer · Created damage value plots by comparing flight lives to FEA declared life and performed sensitivity study at each location of interest to determine most influential factors and a most efficient flight scenario for future FEA mission design.
