Events Coordinator job - Bon Appetit Mgmt Co - Greencastle, IN
The Event Coordinator for Bon Appétit Management Company is responsible for the successful coordination and execution of all daily catered events. This position plans and schedules all daily event orders, and staffing. Strong customer service skills and administrative skills.
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all coordinators are expected to complete the following:
Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers.
Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
MAJOR DUTIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS:
Daily Operations
Ensure that all daily event orders are processed, and fulfilled to client and Bon Appétit expectations.
Work with Events and Catering Manager & staff as required
Schedule event personnel appropriately based upon business needs.
Accommodate last minute orders and add-ons efficiently and courteously.
Consistent and efficient completion of all event paperwork- including schedules, changes, business fluctuations while maintaining a professional, calm and composed demeanor.
Monitors all events and ensures proper delivery and pick up times are met.
Customer Service
Represents company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions
Greets customers courteously, and Interacts with customers in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction
Interact with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented manner
Reviews and Responds to all customer comments with in 24 hours of submission.
Relays relevant comments from customers directly to supervisors
MINOR DUTIES:
Special Events
Acts as Special Event contact and Sales Person.
Develops specialty events and requests per clients needs, budget and unit guidelines
Plans and executes the operational elements of all specialty events
Is on site for all special events and ensures that they meet all clients
Make sure all events meet Bon Appétit Great Expectations standards.
Marketing and Sales
Maintains Client base while generating new client contacts and facilitating a client referral program
implements programs on campus to solicit new business, tracks participation generated from new marketing.
QUALIFICATIONS:

General Hospitality knowledge
At least two year similar work experience
Ability to interact with diverse and high volume customer base in a friendly and efficient manner.
Ability to operate Web based ordering system, process customer requests, changes to orders, updates and client profiles.
Proficient with word processing and spread sheet applications.
Ability to write professional and efficient emails to clients and customers.
Posses the ability to meet Bon Appétit unit specific uniform standards for this position.
Utilize all Personal Protective Equipment’s per Bon Appétit guidelines.
Ability to work at times with minimal supervision, and accomplish tasks without direct instruction, and problem solve for the best solutions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have a valid driver’s license – minimum of Class C (non Commercial Driver License) license and clean motor vehicle record.

Must consistently utilize all Personal Protective Equipment per Bon Appétit guidelines.
Must wear a cut resistance glove whenever using a sharp or potentially sharp tool or instrument.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend elaborate instructions, event requests, correspondence, and memos written in English
Ability to write simple professional correspondence, through email.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and clients.
Ability to lead small meeting and trainings with employees and other members of the company and cover basic health, safety, culinary and service topics.
