Buyer - Senior /Electronics/Purchasing
An established tier 1 automotive supplier is actively searching for a Senior Buyer to add to their growing electronics division. This person will purchase production materials, components, equipment, tooling, and services utilizing new and/or existing suppliers in support of the company’s operations, and manage quality, cost, and on-time delivery of goods and services of assigned supply base. This person will oversee the purchasing function for between 50 and 80 milliion in annual spend for various electronic components.
Responsibilities for the Buyer
- Negotiate supply contracts that meet or exceed supply, material quality, and commercial goals and objectives as set by the company
- Prepare and issue RFQ’s to suppliers for new and existing materials and services
- Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers
- Study market trends, interview vendors, and identify new domestic and global suppliers
- Work with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) for source selection and Kaizen activities
Requirements for the Buyer
- BA/BS in Business or a related discipline
- 6+ years of professional experience in electronics purchasing or a related function
- Procurement experience with electronic components.
