Job Summary: District Local Public Health Preparedness Coordinator


The District Local Health Department (LHD) Preparedness Coordinator serves as primary point of contact for local health departments within their assigned District for issues relating to ISDH Public Health Preparedness and Emergency Response Division goals and objectives. The District LHD Preparedness Coordinator serves at the direction of the ISDH LHD Preparedness Director. This is a work from home office position with travel in personal vehicle to local health departments as needed.


The overarching responsibility of the LHD Preparedness Coordinator is to identify overall preparedness gaps and needs of local health departments within their District, communicate them to the LHD Preparedness Director, and assist in directing them to information and other resources appropriate to address their needs. It is also the responsibility of the LHD Preparedness Coordinator to work closely with the District Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) Coordinator to help facilitate coordination between local public health and healthcare partners on preparedness efforts that would require or benefit from collaboration between the two programs entities.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Communicate regularly with the LHD Preparedness Director to share the needs, challenges and accomplishments of the health departments within your assigned District and to receive instructions and guidance

  • Participate in ISDH PHPER conference calls as scheduled by the respective program Directors.

  • Attend scheduled District Public Health Preparedness meetings along with the HPP Preparedness Coordinator assigned to your District as well as any additional public health related meetings or events as requested by District public health partners

  • Communicate regularly with District counterparts. Identify and communicate any reported needs public health may have from healthcare and solicit feedback on any needs healthcare may have from public health. Identify and communicate any planning, training, and exercise support needs or activities to your Preparedness Support Coordinator

  • Provide guidance and answer questions relating to ISDH preparedness efforts, or direct them to where they may obtain the requested guidance when necessary

  • Assist in tracking progress during preparedness activities, data collection efforts, and inventory tracking as directed by the LHD Preparedness Director

  • Assist ISDH Central Office as directed in tracking LHD Attachment A deliverable progress as well as budget expenditures as they relate to Base, CRI, and MRC grant agreements

  • Assist ISDH LHD Preparedness Director in coordinating Medical Countermeasure Operational Readiness Reviews in CRI jurisdictions as needed

  • Complete task tracking forms and monitor staff projects through completion

OPPORTUNITY


As a Production Operator, you would:


  • Move bulk trailers to and from the truck bay following safety rules for driving the tractor trailers.

  • Unload raw materials following the Tank Truck Bulk Unloading SOP.

  • Manufacture finished products in the production equipment according to a specific production worksheet.

  • Load bulk trailers following the Tank Truck Bulk Loading SOP.

  • Create schedules for all incoming and outgoing materials, as well as manufactured products.

  • Maintain and update inventory of chemicals on PRISM system.

  • Responsible for following “Good Manufacturing Practices” in manufacturing processes and housekeeping in all interior and exterior areas of the facility.

  • Comply with company’s safety and regulatory programs. Always perform any task in a safe and environmentally sound way.

  • Participate in mandatory and processes specific training.

  • Communicate to your supervisor compliance, safety, and equipment needs.

  • Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required. Review changes/additions with your supervisor. Must be RCRA compliant.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.

  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.

  • Must be able to stand or walk up to 12 hours per shift.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift, lift 100 lbs. on occasion.

  • Must be able to climb steps and ladders up to 40 feet high several times daily.

  • Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day. Please refer to the SOP for facial hair guidelines.

  • Due to safety concerns, the wearing of contact lenses is prohibited.
