TEMPORARY POSITION

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Independently reviews electronic and hard copy patient files to determine if they meet criteria for retention or destruction

  • Records and communicates progress of efforts in an organized, professional manner

  • Maintains clean, safe, secure and HIPAA compliant workspace maintaining patient information reviewed in strict confidence

  • Organizes and implements secure transference of patient records deemed appropriate for destruction to designated shredder reciprocals and patient records designated for retention to designated locations

  • Performs other duties as assigned

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED:


1.

Previous file or data management experience preferred


2.

Must be able to maintain all information reviewed in strict confidence


3.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, think critically and make proper decisions in the absence of direct supervision


4.

Must be willing and able to collaborate and successfully complete tasks with others within a diverse workforce


6.

Must be accomplished in written and verbal business communication


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop and squat.


Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.


OSHA Category III.
