Vectren North provides energy delivery services to 570,000 natural gas customers located in central and southern Indiana. Vectren South provides energy delivery services to 142,000 electric customers and 111,000 gas customers located in southwestern Indiana. Vectren South also owns and operates electric generation to serve its electric customers and optimizes those assets in the wholesale power market. VEDO provides energy delivery services to approximately 314,000 natural gas customers located in west central Ohio.
Vectren’s total generation is nearly 1,300 megawatts (MW) and includes 1,000 MW of coal-fired generation, 295 MW of gas-fired generation and 3.2 MW of landfill gas-fired power. In addition, the company has 30 MW of purchased wind power and another 100 MW of purchased power. Furthermore, interruptible load and demand side management initiatives can yield more than 60 MW of energy savings to meet peak demand if needed.
Vectren’s Nonutility Group is involved in four primary business areas: Infrastructure Services, Energy Services, Energy Marketing and Coal Mining. Infrastructure Services provides underground construction, repair, and replacement services (Miller Pipeline and Minnesota Limited.) Energy Services provides energy performance contracting services and renewable energy project development (Energy Systems Group). Energy Marketing markets natural gas (ProLiance Energy). Coal Mining mines and sells coal (Vectren Fuels).

Job Purpose
Under general supervision provides a broad range of routine technical and administrative support services for operations.
Main Accountabilities
Provides support for Division and/or Operating Center areas. Support includes, but is not limited to, maintaining calendars and schedules, organizing travel activities, phone responsibilities, developing quality reports, spreadsheets, and presentations. Understands and assists with budgeting and other financial processes. Handles confidential information while organizing and maintaining records, including epartmental files. Participates in and organizes employee/community events. Orders and maintains inventory for office supplies. Handles local accounts payable/ receivable and payroll responsibilities. Performs other duties as required.
Functional/Technical Competency Requirements Required:
Microsoft Office applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information. Must have demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization. Analytical ability is required to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks and demands.
Possess the necessary level of knowledge and skills in Budget Management & Reporting. Financial report estimating costs, revenues and resources over a specified period, reflecting a reading of the future financial conditions and goals; report of coordination of activities to meet set objectives. Emergency & Crisis Management. Set of procedures applied in planned and coordinated steps for handling, containment and resolution of an emergency. Gas Delivery Planning. Written account of intended future course of action aimed at delivering gas and related services within a specific timeframe. Transmission, Dist, Dispatch Ops. Delivery of all energy and related services within assigned divisions, including field construction, compliance, operations, planning and customer service.
Qualifications
Education
Essential:
High School diploma.
Preferred:
Associate’s degree.
Work Experience
Essential:
2-4 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
