Part-Time Floral / Plant Merchandiser (Terre Haute)
Retail Floral Nursery seeking candidate to work in the floral department of major retailer. The floral merchandising position is a permanent part-time position with varying hours throughout the year, normally four to five hours “per week” and up to twenty hours weekly during holidays. Additional hours required during peak time. Peak times include:
o One week prior to and including Sweetest Day (October)
o Two weeks prior to and including Valentine’s Day (February)
o Two weeks prior to Easter (March/April)
o Two weeks prior to Mother’s Day (May)
o Two Weeks prior to Thanksgiving (November)
o Four Weeks prior to Christmas (December).
Merchandisers work in major retailer to assist floral department personnel in the merchandising of live nursery products organized by category, price point and color. Duties include unloading, moving and consolidation of live goods, watering and maintaining product, set displays and execute special projects and resets. This position requires physical tasks as well as maintaining communication with the Regional Merchandiser (via telephone, e-mail and personal visits to stores), store associates, management, other merchandisers, supporting vendors, and nursery staff. Cell phone and computer access required (web and e-mail). Hours worked, expenses and mileage submitted via nursery’s website. Must be at least 18 years of age, able to pull pallet jacks (training provided), climb small ladder, be able to lift 40 pounds (20 pounds over head) and may be required to work in inclement weather if needed. Merchandisers must have a positive & professional attitude, reliable transportation, home/cellular phone contact, valid e-mail address, & be able to pass required background check. Compensation: $9.25/hr. Location: Terre Haute, Indiana
