Summary:
Maintenance & Reliability Manager is responsible for assuring that all the plant equipment and assets are in proper design and condition to provide safe, reliable, and high performance operation in line with the Plant’s objectives. M&R Manager facilitates strategic planning for equipment and facilities. Has overall responsibility for the plant equipment and facilities performance work systems and bottom line impact. Directly supervises the Reliability and Maintenance staff and takes on outside special assignments as necessary.

Drives the pace, initiatives, innovations and outcomes in maintenance and reliability in accordance with company values and policies and with a high degree of personal accountability and passion. Has a strong desire to know and implement high performance systems, organizations and processes. Is not satisfied with incremental gains. Must always be looking for breakthroughs.
Ensures that equipment, spare parts, and facility performance goals are met in an environment where the safety and security of employees are overriding concerns. Resists even the perception that the abundance of production or equipment problems or the lack of time lowers the emphasis on safety and security.
Has an understanding of the OPP process technologies, equipment maintenance, quality improvement techniques, and operational discipline requirements. Personally knows the key vendors.
Establishes plant maintenance plans/budgets and manages them to assure that cost targets and business objectives are met.
Ensures the effective integration of services from information technologies, logistics, accounting, purchasing and human resources.
Selects, trains, assigns, and retains talented and motivated people in the organization. Insures key skills are present in the organization to support the effective operation of the process equipment.
Knows and drives the implementation of the high performance technologies in equipment maintenance areas of predictive and preventive maintenance. Ensures high standards and the integration of maintenance resources into the process of quality, customer service, and plant appearance.
Drives toward continually improving and innovative directions consistent with the site strategies and vision. Effectively utilizes SAP to improve performance.
Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships on the site. Must be effective communicator. Shows a passion for teamwork and has a willingness to cooperate. Has an overall Site concern and interest.
Maintains ownership for all plant equipment, facilities, and appropriate regulatory issues.
Responsible for all personnel-related issues in the plant maintenance and reliability staff, including organization structure, succession plans, labor relations, employee morale and development.
Develops personal interface with primary suppliers.
Leads and participates in special assignments from the Sr. Operations Manager.
Possesses high personal standards and character.
Resists status quo.
Must be strong advocate for the plant maintenance and reliability resources.
Must have willingness to receive mentorship help.
Lead efforts toward multi-crafting and integration of basic maintenance functions into operations.
Reasoning Skills: Strong mental skills, excellent grasp of the budget processes.
