Engineer Staff Application - Honeywell - Brazil, IN

The Epic Applications Aircraft Lead will be responsible for the following:

• Technical authority for Epic Applications for an OEM program.


• Assist LSE to resolve Primus Epic platform issues that arise during the development lifecycle of the project.


• Knowledgeable and capable of resolving complex technical issues associated with the 22 functions that define the avionics platform. Capable of assessing impact of function issues relative to another function at the aircraft operational level.


• Work with LSE and SPE regarding customer technical communications.


• Support LSE/SPE meetings with OEM on technical and some business plan timelines.


• Resource to OEM engineers regarding inquiries with regard to product development.


• Participate in OEM JCCB activities.


• Provide input to Epic Apps PE regarding FCI/ABM breakdown for Epic Apps.


• Engage Epic Apps PE regarding any potential technical issue that will increase EAC.


• Participate in common Systems CCB with emphasis on maintaining commonality.


• Engaged in the definition, development, and oversight of bench usage and configurations required for COE product testing.


• Coordination with Epic Applications Function System Engineers to support for OEM flight testing.


• Drive closure of OEM certification documents, CIAs, TSO MPS, Install EB, etc.


• OEM Epic Apps CCB and Safety Focal.


• Epic Application ownership for airframe FHAs.


• Responsible to coordinate Builds with SI (HEROIC, APMs, escape, and tools).


• Coordinate LDI, ACFM and AMI needs for customer.


• Work with customer Epic Applications Teams to support testing hand off between SITS and ITF.


• Support the technical portion of proposals to address future business opportunities with the OEM.


• This includes new functionality on existing aircraft as well as new aircraft platforms.


• Provide technical input and estimates for Epic Apps QEs.


• This will require the individual to fully understand the product lifecycle and seek means to reduce cost of the product and processes.


• The individual will be required to create/conceptualize truly new methods, techniques, and/or processes for Epic Applications.


• Share experience and knowledge to address value engineering, and program/process changes associated with Primus Epic. The focus will be with regard to making Epic competitive through cost reduction.


• Selected candidate will possess the following Preferred Attributes:


• Previous experience with knowledge of the Primus Epic system.


• Demonstrated understanding of overall engineering disciplines and processes for Primus Epic system.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in System Engineering or an engineering related discipline.


• 12 years of experience in aerospace.


• 5 years of experience with Honeywell integrated systems.

Additional Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to design and develop new technologies and applications for products.


• Proven working knowledge of software product life cycle processes.


• Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, design, plan and implement product and process improvements.


• Demonstrated application of avionics systems standards (such as DO-178B, ARP4754A) to avionics design and development.


• Experience applying certification requirements to a product or airplane certification program.
