Clinic Specialist THV - Edwards Lifesciences - Brazil, IN

MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS

Role Purpose:
Provide clinical training and guidance to the Transcatheter Heart Valve (“THV”) customers, ensuring effective support for the THV team, clinicians for commercializing sites in Latin America.


Responsible for implants performance in the given territory.


Acquire a thorough working knowledge of the products/therapies and develop an extensive understanding of all their applications;


Be responsible for the implants activity in Region Latin America (“RLA”) and support implants in Latin America region as needed (performance will be measured);


Assist in developing the THV procedure in both Cardiology and Surgical environments;


Participate in site selection by providing technical capabilities assessment;


Provide site validation and pre-training for new sites;


Provide bail out list to the new centers;


Advise both Cardiologists and Surgeons in the patient selection process and suitability for a Transcatheter Heart Valve;


Provide information to proctor about the patients before the proctor´s trip, when applies;


Maintain high quality by following the Procedural Success Rate (PSR) objectives;


Attend at least the first 10 implants at each new site, depending on customer expertise as determined by the technical specialist and Surgeon and Cardiologist;


Bring sites independent for procedures, products preparation and support;


Follow up on independent implants by providing results, success rate, number and type of implants at the end of every month;


Provide appropriate support tools for use in the field (such as case study reports, slides, review of clinical data);


Train all relevant members of the sales force and distributors to an appropriate level of understanding of the therapy, the product and the sales message (when applicable);


In the absence of a Clinical Sales Specialist in the given territory, be responsible to check the inventory (TA, TF, sizes, expiry dates) when visiting a center and/or distributor and follow up with the BUM and customer service on any issue such as short expiry products, excessively low or high inventory, incomplete kits;


Participate in THV Clinical / Marketing team meetings and company organized training session when applies;


Provide market information and competitive intelligence to the Business Unit and LA Marketing in a regular basis;


Send all the information required on appropriate time defined by BUM: implant calendar, competition info, implant info;


Attend local and international congress/ conferences / meetings when required;


Attend THV´s conferences and meetings when required;


Make sure that all acts and activities are according to THV SOP´s;


Make sure the demo kits are complete and intact;


Be responsible to request any promotional and/or clinical hand outs / materials;


Contact with local and international THV partner when needed;


Complete all corporate and THV training on appropriate time;


Interaction in regular basis with THV Coordinator and provide all info requested.


Qualifications


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE


Good level of clinical skills preferably medically trained to technician or nurse level.


Significant knowledge of the interventional cardiology environment.


Previous experience in conducting training programs to both physician and support staff is a strong advantage.


Experience working in the operating room or cath lab environment and awareness of how to behave in a sterile environment.


REQUIRED EDUCATION


Bachelor Degree needed


LANGUAGES




Advanced English


KNOWLEDGE




Network in the interventional cardiology and / or cardiovascular surgery markets is a strong advantage.




Ability to travel extensively (more than 70%).




High interpersonal and communication skills.




Excellent planning, organization and execution skills;




Self motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
