Industrial Maintenance Technician


Position Summary:  Responsible for performing routine maintenance and preventive maintenance actions to ensure machines continue to operate efficiently, and the physical condition does not deteriorate.



MUST HAVE STRONG ELECTRICAL / PLC SKILLS FOR CONSIDERATION


Essential Functions and responsibilities:


·       Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and/or power tools


·       Inspect or test equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions


·       Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blue prints and repair manuals as necessary


·       Inspect drives, motors, belts, check fluid levels and replace filters


·       Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools such as: hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices


·       Assemble, install, repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment


·       Perform routine preventive maintenance


Success factors/job competencies:


·       Good communications skills both verbal and written


·       PLC and device net troubleshooting knowledge (Omron and Mitsubishi)


·       Able to read schematics


·       Knowledge of electrical circuits


·       Knowledge of pneumatic systems


·       Knowledge of hydraulic systems


·       Good Attendance


·       Teamwork

 Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, use tools and controls, turn wrenches, reach with hands and arms, talk, see, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and is required to lift up to 75  pounds.  Vision requirements consist of close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment:  The plant environment noise level is loud.  Although the plant is climate controlled, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  PPE consisting of a hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, long sleeves, and ear plugs, must be worn at all times when entering and working in the plant.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving equipment, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, dust, vibration, weld sparks/flash, and smoke.  The Maintenance Technician is assigned a fire retardant (FR) shirt that must be worn at all times when entering and working in the welding department. Gloves must be worn while handling parts.
