Summary:

The Medical Assistant-Regional assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse.


• Performs select clinical duties.


• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients’ charts.


• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.


• Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.


• Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.


• Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.

Education & Experience:

• Preferred Qualification:  One year of experience working in a clinical role.


• Minimum Qualification:  Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or (DIPL) Diploma graduate of a Practical or Vocational Nursing Program or (ADG) Associate’s Degree in Nursing-RN by hire date to position.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Minimum Qualification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within six months of hire date to position.


• Minimum Qualification: Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) within ninety days of hire date to position; or valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana obtained by hire date to position.
