Lube Technician
Job Summary:
Terre Haute Chevrolet, a division of United Companies, is currently seeking a full-time Lube Technician for its Fixed Operations team. This position functions as an entry-level technician who ensures maintenance inspections and service is performed as required by manufacturers, ensures pre-delivery service on new and pre-owned vehicles, all provides a high level of customer service. Technician work is performed in a state of the art facility that’s comfortable and well-lit.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Perform routine service inspections: Ensure lubrication and maintenance is performed as required by manufacturer. Ensures 27-point maintenance inspections, including checking the oil, tire pressure and condition, filters, windshield wiper fluid, power steering fluid, brake fluid, transmission and differential fluids, and engine coolant and will know how to top off or replace these fluids and maintenance-related parts as required. Conduct pre-delivery service on new and pre-owned vehicles to ensure excellent working order for the customer. Drive vehicles in and around the premises as needed. Perform routine vehicle servicing activities as directed.
Demonstrate professionalism and competency: Maintains an increasingly broad knowledge of how a vehicle’s complex components work and interact. Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards. Adapts to rapidly changing technologies in the automotive industry. Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs. Assists other technicians when needed. Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with dealership staff.
Personally commit to quality and superior customer service in all aspects of work: Provides “World Class Customer Service” for internal and external customers. Participates in and promotes the established Quality Improvement Process (QIP) for continuous improvement. Participates on teams to research, measure and correct problems and to strive for process improvement. Communicates and exemplifies the Company’s Mission Statement, Vision Statement, Values, and Philosophy. Attends at least ten (10) hours of Training annually to continue the development of work-related skills.
Perform other duties as may be assigned at management discretion.
Education, Experience, Skills, & Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is minimally required.
Experience: Prior entry-level lube technician experience is preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Aptitude for vehicle maintenance. Strong work ethic. Works well with others in a team-based environment. Strong customer service and communications skills. Customer service orientation.
Other Requirements: A neat, clean, and professional appearance. Unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must be able to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles. Must be at least age 18.
