Class A CDL Drivers - Terre Haute - Westfield Steel - Terre Haute, IN
Duties:
Works to supply products and services that meet or exceed the customers’ expectations. Follows the documented quality systems and processes that are continually being improved to satisfy our customers’ needs.
Drives truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations, such as narrow passageways.
Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits the report indicating the truck condition. Must conduct pre and post-trip inspections.
Maintains driver log according to FMCSA and DOT regulations.
The driver is responsible for proper load securement and tarping.
May assist workers in loading and unloading truck.
May drive tractor with two trailers hitched in tandem.
May drive tractor-trailer combination to deliver poles for utility and construction companies.
May work as member of a two-person team driving tractor with sleeper bunk behind cab.

Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates: Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings: Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
Communicating with Persons Outside the Organization: Representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
Education/Experience Requirements
This particular position requires the individual to have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); appropriate drivers license(s) to operate assigned vehicle(s); a satisfactory driving record; or some previous work-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
