Description/Job Summary
Prepare drink orders for customers according to specified recipes using measuring equipment. Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines when selling alcohol (e.g., age restrictions, last call times, CARE – Control Alcohol Risks Effectively). Prepare consumption report. Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas. Complete opening duties including setting up designated bar stock, supplies, and tools, and ensuring work area is clean and everything is in working order. Transport bar unit with all supplies and equipment to and from function area, set up and break down bar, clean and return bar to its proper storage location. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas. Process payments by verifying cash drawer, operating the cash register, receiving payments, making change, and issuing receipts. Respond to customer complaints regarding food or service.
Develop client rapport and promote partnership value with clients by fulfilling contractual obligations, seeking client feedback, and responding to client requests. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager/supervisor; complete safety training and certifications. Follow all company policies and procedures (e.g., safety and security); ensure uniform/dress code and personal appearance are clean and professional; protect the privacy and security of customers and coworkers; support workplace diversity initiatives. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Opening
- Complete opening duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, including bank, and ensuring work area is clean and everything is in working order.
- Set up workstations with all necessary supplies.
Steps of Service
- Present physical and accurate check and process payment, adhering to all cash handling and credit policies/procedures including added and received gratuity.
- Respond to customer complaints regarding food or service.
Closing
- Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
Bartending
- Requisition all necessary supplies, specifically bottle-for-bottle liquor restock, transporting supplies from storeroom to bar set-up area as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit (e.g., CO2 lines, soda tanks, soda guns, drain), tables, and other tools, following all set-up guidelines.
- Prepare drink orders for customers according to specified recipes using measuring equipment.
- Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks.
- Transport bar unit with all supplies and equipment to and from function area, setting up and breaking down bar, and cleaning and returning bar to its proper storage location.
- Document and communicate any incidents/accidents immediately to management and Security during shift or event.
- Check quality and set up designated bar stock and supplies by using checklist.
- Prepare consumption report according to specified procedures.
- Follow all state and local laws for serving alcohol responsibly (e.g., last call times).
- Remove soiled wares from bar top and tables and place in designated area.
Retail Sales
- Verify cash drawer at beginning of shift.
- Make change and issues receipts or tickets to customers.
- Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines when selling age restricted items.
- Operate cash register, receiving payments (cash, checks, or charges) from customers for good/services, following Sodexo cash handling policies and procedures.
