Infrastructure Engineering " Water Resource Engineering and Allocations

Our Infrastructure Engineering client requires a French speaking Hydrologist with experience in African projects with Water Resource Engineering history.

Description:
In close collaboration with the CTA and in liaison with the authorities of the LCBC and other national and regional structures of the Commission and Member States, the International Consultant will:
• Carry out the storage and screening of all existing data available, including the Libyan side of the basin and analysis of gaps for the management of water resources of the basin;
• Carry out the specific treatment of data that a problem of quality or standard makes it difficult to use in an analysis;
• Acquire and install equipment measures at strategic locations for cross-border management of water resources;
• Train staff of the Executive Secretariat and the Member States of the LCBC of new technology acquisition and processing of hydrological data (surface water and groundwater) and the staff managing the new stations;

Qualifications and skills
The expert will hold an engineering degree in Hydrology, Hydraulics Hydrogeology or other specialty affine.
General Professional Experience
At least 10 years in the management of water resources and particularly the bases on hydrological data

Professional specific
It should have:
• Professional experience in the field of hydrology and in particular in the acquisition, processing and analysis of data;
• A good knowledge of current techniques for database management in hydrology;
• A good knowledge of modern data acquisition hydrological
• Excellent knowledge of current concepts of management of international basins and integrated management of water resources;
• The experience of a similar consultation in a transboundary basin would be an advantage;
• Excellent command of the French and English as working languages

Location: Niger, Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Libya.
Duration: 24 months
